So...
Went on a road trip about two weekends ago. It was pretty brutal. Sixteen hours there and back in the space of two days! I was driving on three hours of sleep. It was brutal. BUT! We visited my second cousins, which was really cool because they live in this little old house and it seemed to have a whole bunch of undiscovered history and story behind every corner. It wasn't the most pristine house, in fact some of the rooms were fairly messy. But that's what sort of made it beautiful too. There were tons of bedrooms - probably about eight beds and only two people actually lived there. It's because they always welcome people who are traveling or need a place to stay for a while. On almost every wall hung a different picture with a different story. These people had gone through so much hardship - which I didn't hear the full extent of - and yet they smiled, were joyful and fed us. It was just an altogether pleasant stop.
The lady that lived there had kids who had already moved out, but the portrait in this photograph was one of them (Painted by that "one") and it was tucked in the corners of one of the rooms. I secretly wanted to take it. Well really it was no secret. I kind of asked. xD
But anyway. I thought it was beautiful and the stare is intense!
Hope you enjoy! Credit for the painting goes to my second cousin.
